HIRING

POST PRODUCTION OPERATIONS MANAGER

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico

Job Description: Day’s Edge Productions, an award-winning factual production studio, is building a new production and post-production hub in Albuquerque. We’re looking for a Post Production Operations Manager to help us design, build, and run our Albuquerque operations from the ground up.

This is not a traditional office management role. You’ll own our server infrastructure, asset management, and post-production workflow. You’ll troubleshoot technical problems, coordinate between producers in the field and editors in the suite, manage large amounts of data securely, and work directly with our broadcast clients like PBS to ensure seamless delivery. You’ll also be the person who figures out where new AI tools –from transcript organization to proxy generation to metadata tagging –can make us faster and smarter without compromising quality.

You bring:

  • Deep experience managing broadcast and documentary production. You’ve handled terabytes of footage, tight deadlines, and teams under pressure. You know what efficiency looks like.
  • Obsessive attention to detail and systems thinking. You catch problems before they cascade. You see a broken workflow and fix it.
  • Technical fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and DaVinci Resolve. You understand proxies, codecs, render optimization, media management. You can troubleshoot why a project or sequence is slow or broken.
  • Server and asset management expertise. Optimizing older structure, ensuring redundancy, creating and following backup protocols, managing metadata. You take data safety seriously.
  • Strong people skills. You’re comfortable talking to stressed producers in the field, frustrated editors, and network executives. You facilitate. You solve problems without creating drama.
  • Sophisticated, hands-on AI integration or willingness to explore AI-integration. We’re looking for someone who is already, or who is excited to work with AI workflows across production. Someone who is already or is willing to learn to not just chat with Claude or ChatGPT… but use Claude to write and debug scripts, automate repetitive tasks, and prototype new processes. Someone who can understand what AI can actually do in production and post, and you’re excited to push that further. You see the gap between how we currently work and how we could work, and you’re ready to help us close the gap.
  • Self-motivation. You don’t need supervision. You see what needs doing and you do it.

What we’re offering:

  • A chance to design a production operation from scratch. You’re not inheriting broken systems. You’re building the right ones from day one. You’ll work on premium documentaries – series, specials, and features – for major broadcasters. And you’ll have real influence over how we use technology to make better films faster.
  • A chance to be part of team creating films that make a difference
  • Competitive salary. New Mexico cost of living advantage. And the opportunity to be part of something that’s genuinely rethinking how documentary production works.
